Greater Manchester's Covid hospital death toll has risen again

Six more people have died from coronavirus in Greater Manchester's hospitals.

The region's hospital death toll has now reached 3,442, the latest NHS figures show.

Three more coronavirus deaths were recorded by Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Pennine's figures include deaths at the Royal Oldham, Rochdale Infirmary, Fairfield General and North Manchester General.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Salford Royal and Stepping Hill recorded one further death each.

The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester, as of Sunday, November 22, are:

  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 355
  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust 9
  • Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 633
  • NHS Nightingale Hospital North West - 6
  • Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust - 960
  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust - 6
  • Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust - 294
  • Stockport NHS Foundation Trust - 307
  • Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - 393
  • The Christie NHS Foundation Trust - 17
  • Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust - 462

Nationally a further 222 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals in England to 38,334.

Patients were aged between 30 and 99 years old. All except 5 (aged 30 to 81 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from October 27 to November 21 with the majority being on or after November 18

Across the North West, there were 37 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
