A deal is set to be made with Greater Manchester leaders to go into Tier 3 coronavirus lockdown 'today or tomorrow'.
It has been reported that the Government could be offering Greater Manchester millions in extra funding to accept the same or similar restrictions as the Liverpool City Region in Tier 3.
The Housing secretary Robert Jenrick has said that ‘a range of different things’ have been offered to the local leaders to settle on an agreement on the restrictions.
When asked on Sky news this morning by Kay Burley if the Greater Manchester region will be offered an extra £100million, Jenrick said: "I have offered, in discussions that we have had, a range of different things that local leaders would like.

"Whether that's greater control over local tracing, whether it is use of the armed forces, whether it is more resources for local councils.
"We want to put together a package of measures that will actually work."

When prompted again for a yes or no answer on the question of if the region has been offered more money, Jenrick said: “We’ve offered further resources.”
However, No 10 did not comment on reports in various newspapers that Mr Johnson could offer the region tens of millions of pounds to accept the lockdown.
Today, Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham will be under pressure to make a decision after the Guardian revealed a leaked NHS document claiming the Greater Manchester region is set to run out of beds and that some hospitals are already full.
