A Conservative MP from Greater Manchester says he will vote against the government's proposed vaccine passport plan.
Chris Green, who represents Bolton West, said he was concerned the activation of plan B restrictions would be used 'as a stepping stone' to further measures in the New Year.
From next Wednesday, people living in England will need passports showing double vaccination or a negative test to enter nightclubs and big sporting events.
In a bid to stem the spread of the Omicron variant, Prime Minister Boris Johnson also announced an extension of mask wearing and the return of work-from-home guidance from Monday.
However, a growing number of Tory backbenchers are reportedly threatening to rebel over the PM's plan, including Mr Green.
In a video shared on Twitter, he said: "This winter, just as in every other year, respiratory viruses will be on the increase and will be spread.
"That will increase coronavirus, but a difference this year is we have a huge roll-out of the vaccine programme, the incredible work of our medics and scientists to make sure we have a range of vaccines to protect against every variant of concern.

"We have to respect and value that.
"I'm disappointed we're already in plan A, but that was supposed to be to collect data, to collect evidence, to determine whether or not we'd have to take further action because of the current variant.
"Plan C is already being formulated. There is already a scheme to impose another more strict regime on the country.
"I'm very concerned at that, whether it will include compulsory vaccination for the entire nation.
"We are already seeing the introduction of Covid status certification ID card scheme. This on Tuesday is something I'm going to vote against."
Mr Green is one of four Tory MPs in the region to have already stated their opposition to the proposals.
As Health Sectretary Sajid Javid set out the plan B measures in the House of Commons on Wednesday night, Hazel Grove MP William Wragg could be heard shouting "resign".
Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the Tory backbench 1922 Committee and MP for Altrincham and Sale West, said: “It’s deja vu all over again, isn’t it?
“Can I remind the Secretary of State that in March 2020 we were asked to impose restrictions for three weeks while the health service capacity was increased.”
Meanwhile, in a tweet yesterday, Bury South MP Christian Wakeford said: "I have long been a critic of vaccine passports having previously raised the matter in the chamber, so will vote against their introduction next week.
"The new restrictions are conflicting and damaging where you are to work from home but go to parties. I cannot support Plan B."
Parliament is expected to vote on the measures on Tuesday (December 14).
