Great Western Road crash: Road closed as emergency services attend serious accident

Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious road accident on Great Western Road in Glasgow.

The crash occurred near the junction of Manor Road next to the old Garscadden police station at around 7:45pm this evening.

One eyewitness has suggested to Glasgow Live that the accident involved two cars and a taxi and that a young girl has been knocked down.

They have also counted at least seven police cars at the scene and three ambulances.

An update from traffic information site Inrix suggests that the road is closed at the moment while police and emergency services attend the scene.

Police have confirmed that officers are currently at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called at 7:45pm to a road accident in the vicinity of Great Western Road near to Manor Road.

"Police are currently in attendance at the scene."
