Great Western Railway warns of reduced service affecting Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway as heatwave continues

Passengers travelling to and from Bristol tomorrow (Thursday, July 25) have been warned of extensive cancellations due to the ongoing heatwave.

Great Western Railway has warned customers, including those travelling to and from Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway, that a reduced train service will run from 12pm tomorrow.

The UK could be set to see it's hottest day on record, with temperatures of up to 39C according to the Met Office.

Many commuters could be left stranded on platforms or crammed onto busy trains as the reduced service gets underway.

A GWR spokesperson took to Twitter to share the warning, writing: "With the forecast chance of all-time high temperatures, we expect to run a reduced train service after midday tomorrow.

"Trains which do run will be busier than normal and take longer because of speed restrictions."

All passengers have been advised to check their journeys before setting out tomorrow by visiting the Journey Check website here.
