Great North Run runners being offered a free takeaway from Newcastle Chinese

Right Great Run Runners there isn't long to go at all now with the clock ticking down to the big race on sUnday.

Running 13.1 miles can of course be very hungry work and we bring news to you of a VERY tasty offer that should be just the tonic after running the famous Newcastle to South Shields course.

And that's because as well as a restaurant offering free pizza and pasta to all runners, Wagamama rewarding GNR participants and a Newcastle bar offering free shots on presentation of Great North Run medal, a Newcastle Chinese takeaway is offering everyone a free meal.

The Golden Touch on Bridge Street in Seaton Burn are being very generous with their offer which they revealed on Facebook at the weekend.

They posted "With the Great North Run around the corner, We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone taking part.

"As always every year, anyone wearing a medal on Sunday will receive a 1 free meal off us and a discount on the rest of the order.

"All we ask is that we see a medal and an entry number in shop.
"We'd also like to take a photo of all the GNR runners for a photo collage."

So there you have it, turn up to The Golden Touch with your medal and number and then tuck into your free scran!
