A runner has been banned for life from the Great North Run.
Henri Hesketh will never be able to compete in the world's biggest half-marathon because of an Instagram post.
Henri boasted on Instagram about 'hopping a barrier' to compete in the 13.1 mile race, reports the Chronicle Live.
He said that he "hopped a barrier and ran a half marathon" under a picture of him with his medal and goody bag at the finish line in South Shields.
It is understood that race organisers are investigating claims he used another entrant's spare race number to dupe officials.
Mr Hesketh - whose social media platforms state he's from the Manchester area - has yet to reply to request for comment.
A spokesperson for Great Run said: “It's strictly against our terms and conditions to swap or sell numbers, or take part in the race without following the proper entry procedure.
"Our participants well-being is our number one priority, running in someone else’s number means we have a lack of information on the runner should we ever need it in a welfare situation.
"Henri Hesketh’s actions at the Great North Run on Sunday were not in keeping with our procedures or the spirit of the race and he will not be welcome at Great Run events going forward.”
Around 50,000 runners took park in Sunday's annual 13.1-mile event, raising millions of pounds for good causes.
Runners pay £55 to enter the ballot for a spot on the starting line of what is the world's biggest half marathon.
One of those, Lisa McNulty, ran for the British Heart Foundation. She was left disgusted after stumbling across Mr Hesketh's online boasts.
"Some people spend hundreds to take part, and it isn't cheap so to see this is so annoying," she fumed.
"A lot of runners are really annoyed by this, and the fact he is boasting about it just makes it worse.
"People would have killed to get a place this year, and he's just making a mockery of the full thing.
"I'm glad the organisers have done something about it, because if you let one person get away with it, they will all do it."
On Instagram, Mr Hesketh's page features snaps of him competing in a series of running and cycling events.
Mr Hesketh also has a page on the modelling site StarNow, where he classes himself as an "actor, extra, model, singer, guitarist".
