Great news for those with a garden: Edinburgh set for warm weather spell in coming days

Looking at the forecast and seeing warm weather and sunshine on the way doesn't quite generate the same buzz as it once did, given lockdown and all.

People are of course being urged to help save lives by staying at home and avoiding gatherings in parks or public areas.

However, if you're out exercising, or lucky enough to have a garden to chill out in, you might be interested to know that we've got a warm weather spell on the way in Edinburgh.

According to the Met Office things should start trending upwards from Monday, with temperatures of around 16C to start the week. It is likely to be cloudy for much of the day though, so the opportunity to bask in the sun will be limites.

Things will improve again on Tuesday with temperatures of 17C in the Scottish capital before things hit 19C on Wednesday – with sunshine likely throughout the morning and early afternoon.

And while things are set to drop back to 17C on Thursday, it's likely to be sunshine and blue skies all day.

Those at the Met Office reckon we've got even more good weather on the way too. They say: "To start the period, high pressure should dominate with most parts of the UK seeing largely fine and dry conditions, with variable cloud and bright or sunny spells.

"The far north/northwest may turn less settled with a greater chance of cloudier skies, outbreaks of rain and stronger winds at times here.

"Temperatures look to take an upward trend over the next two weeks with most areas becoming warm, especially in the south and east.

"Through the middle and towards the end of the period, there looks to be a continuation of the settled weather as high pressure stays in control.

"Most places should remain largely dry with plenty of brightness or sunshine as well as light winds."
