'Great excitement' after Kerry €500,000 EuroMillions win as Lotto issues appeal

The Lotto is urging people in Kerry to check their tickets after a player in the Kingdom scooped a €500,000 prize.

The golden EuroMillions Plus ticket was sold in Hussey’s Shop on Prince Street, Tralee, on Monday, December 27, bosses confirmed on Wednesday.

The numbers for the draw were 11, 19, 26, 31, 49, with the ticket holder asked to sign their name on the back of the ticket and keep it safe.

Gerard Hussey, owner of Hussey’s Shop, said: “Our family-run shop serves quite a local community so we are certain that there will be great excitement around the town as soon as word spreads.

“My wife Triona runs the shop and we would know a lot of our regulars so I’m sure they will all be eager to check their tickets as soon as they realise that we sold one worth €500,000.

“This is also the biggest prize that we have ever sold so we are delighted. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the winner checks their ticket and realises that they have the winning one soon!”

The National Lottery has asked the ticket holder to contact their prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie . Arrangements will then be made for them to claim their prize.

It comes as one lucky player in France won the jackpot of €79,411,191 in last night’s EuroMillions. This means that Friday’s EuroMillions jackpot is guaranteed to be €17 million.
