'Great business' - Nottingham Forest fans react as transfer reports emerge on midfielder

Nottingham Forest will reportedly listen to offers for Joao Carvalho this summer.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder has struggled for a starting spot in Sabri Lamouchi’s side this season and has had limited game time.

National media reports claim Forest would be willing to let Carvalho go to Olympiacos this summer for £15m, making a small profit on the club-record £13.2m they spent on him in the summer of 2018.

Here’s what the Forest fans have had to say about the rumours on social media...

@xhellnbackx: £25 million in the red for the last financial year - £15m makes a big dent in that and gives us room to manoeuvre when it comes more signings. We’ve had a great season, mostly without him playing, so as much as I love the fella, it makes a lot of sense.

@DarrenWeston82: Considering he doesn't play, which is a shame, why keep him?

@123inger: Depends on a few things in the summer. If Sabri is still here. If he is then I'd probably sell him, because he won't get used. Certain if he does go it will be to Oly.

@JimmyRiggers: Yes. Sell him and add depth to the squad.

Simon Lodge: He has better vision and passing than Silva but Silva also gets stuck into a tackle....in this team I pick Silva over him all day long.

Ryan Sirmon: Technically a good player, but I don’t think I’ve seen him make a challenge, just dosen’t seem up for the physicality of the Championship.

Ian Andrew Spridgens: Fantastic quality player but he’s not suited in the hard nosed Championship style of English football unfortunately has talent in abundance but he’s not physical enough to cope.

Simon Lacey: Possibly the best technical and creative player we have. Says an awful lot about the club that fans wanted to lose creative players.

Stephen Miskelly: £15 million would be great business.

Dave Mitchell: I’d rather have Silva all day long.
