Arsenal made some big statements on deadline day but also let talent leave the club as they attempted to balance the books somewhat.
Alex Iwobi's reported £40m deal allowed the Gunners to retrieve some of the money they spent on players aplenty during the summer transfer window.
Gabriel Martinelli was signed for £6m and add the deals for Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba, Dani Ceballos, Kieran Tierney and David Luiz - and the Gunners spending surpassed £130m.
Whilst Arsenal didn't ideally want to let go of Iwobi, it's safe to say the fee was too good to turn down.
The transfer switch has left Arsenal fans, in large part, praising the club for making Everton pay such a high fee for an 'inconsistent' player.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has opened up on Iwobi's transfer switch to Everton.
"Alex has made a big contribution at Arsenal, " Emery explained. "He worked hard in the academy, where he was an example to many young players and has been an important part of our squad. We wish Alex every success in the future."
