The Great British Skinny Dip will be taking place at a number of cities around the UK. Nottingham isn't one of the designated locations but there are several locations within an hour or so where people can enjoy a naked swim.
Venues include both indoor and outdoor pools and a lake over the summer, with one continuing right through to December. The annual event, organised by British Naturism, is designed to encourage acceptance and participation in social nudity
The closest to Nottingham are in Melton Mowbray, Birmingham, Northampton and Peterborough on the following dates:
- Morris Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, B15 2TH: Starting Saturday May 28 and every Saturday until December 17, 6pm to 9pm.
- The Mounts Baths, Upper Mounts Northampton NN1 3DN: June 12, 5.30pm to 8pm.
- Race Hub, Six Hills Lake, Six Hills Lane, Melton Mowbray, LE14 3PR: June 16, 6.30pm to 7.30pm
- Peterborough Lido, Bishop's Road Peterborough PE1 1YY: May 28, 6.30pm to 9pm, June, 25 7.30pm to 10pm, July 23, 7.30pm to 10pm, August 27, 7.30pm to 10pm.,
