Great British Bake Off viewers were left quite emotional after the premiere of Amazon's new Christmas advert.
The advert, which can be seen above, features a ballerina who is left feeling the very real effects of lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic and the incredible struggle on the arts sector.
The story follows the ballerina who never stops training in pursuit of her goal and dream of performing, before a grand finale.
The two-minute ad pulled the heartstrings of many as it concluded during the ad break of the popular Channel 4 show, with many dubbing it 'Christmas advert of the year':
"Now the @amazon ballerina advert has made me blub #GBBO", Tweeted one, while another added: "That was outstanding. Even if you’re not watching #GBBO find a way of seeing that! #Amazon nailing the emotional Christmas advert this year #showmustgoon".
Others added: "Might have full on cried at this advert from Amazon", and "Just cried at an Amazon advert during #bakeoff #GBBO that's me broken lol."
Another Tweeted: "The Amazon advert totally sucked me in. I wish it hadn’t but it did - normally zone out during ad breaks Sleeping face. This however, in a few minutes, encapsulates 2020 especially for the Arts Industry. Beautiful, chilling and moving #amazon #GBBO"
Others pointed out the task John Lewis now have to better it to hold onto their Christmas advert crown:
"The John Lewis advert of lockdown #theshowmustgoon #amazon #GBBO", said one.
Another added: "Amazon really trying to outdo the John Lewis ad this year!" and "Amazon parking its tanks firmly on John Lewis's lawn there."
