Viewers might have tuned in to The Great British Bake Off's grand final last night to get a glimpse of Jo Wheatley's white chocolate and pistachio meringues. But many found themselves choking on nuts of a different kind when a shot focused tight on a squirrel's testicles. Don't worry, squirrel wasn't on the menu: shots of squirrels in the show's parkland setting have been a running gag throughout the series. Presenter Sue Perkins tweeted before the show: "I can now reveal that this week's GBBO features a shot of a squirrel with outsized nuts. Trust me, they are anatomically DAZZLING. Enjoy." Meanwhile, Caitlin Moran warned viewers: "I've just seen a preview tape of tomorrow's The Great British Bake Off. And 41 minutes in, there's a shot of a squirrel with ENORMOUS testicles. Remember everyone: it's the squirrel with the massive knackers on Great British Bake Off. Exactly 40 minutes in. HUUUUUGE." You can watch it on the iPlayer here about 36:10.
