The Great British Bake Off will keep the same line-up when the show returns for a third series next year, according to Sandi Toksvig.

The hugely popular baking show made the switch from BBC to Channel 4 last year, overhauling its judging and presenting line-up in the lucrative deal, leaving only Paul Hollywood.

Mary Berry was replaced by Prue Leith while Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc handing hosting duties to comedians Toksvig and Noel Fielding.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Toksvig has confirmed that the four will return in 2019, saying that she thinks they are “good to go”.

Spilling the secrets of this year’s series, Toksvig revealed the fun they’d had filming with the final set to air on Tuesday.

QI host Toksvig said: “The gang this year were exceptional. We've wept and laughed. The final is more nerve-racking than any other show.”

Finalists: Kim-Joy, Ruby Bhogal and Rahul Mandal will battle it out in the final (Channel 4 / Love Productions)

Standard Online has contacted Channel 4 for comment.

This year’s final will see Ruby Bhogal, Rahul Mandal and Kim-Joy battle it out to be crowned champion, following in the footsteps of Sophie Faldo.

But, according to the episode billing, the final will provide the bakers with a never-done-before twist as they head outside the famous white marquee .

The official description reads: "In the judges' last Signature challenge, the bakers tackle doughnuts and the tricky task of immaculate decoration.

"There's a deceptively simple Technical, save for one key feature: it's not baked in the tent!"

The task will be the first time the contestants have worked outside of the tent, erected in the beautiful gardens of Berkshire’s Welford Park.

The Great British Bake Off final airs Tuesday October 30 at 8pm on Channel 4.
