Great British Bake Off star impresses fans with dog biscuit recipe

Liverpool based Great British Bake Off contestant and dog lover, Lizzie Acker, took to Instagram ahead of tonight’s episode to share a recipe fit for dogs.

It's biscuit week on the show and Lizzie, who owns a Bedlington Terrier known as Prudence or Pru for short, was getting some practice in except this time she wasn’t being judged by Paul Hollywood or her pet's namesake.

Instead, the Scouser who works at the Paint Shop at Jaguar Land Rover, Halewood, was being critiqued by her 2-year-old dog Prudence and his friends Trevor and Dora.

The dog biscuits didn’t seem to last long though as the video clip shows each of the pooches munching on the treats.

Here’s how you can make Lizzie's dog biscuits.

Ingredients

  • 120 grams of natural peanut butter

  • 1 banana

  • 250 grams of spelt flour

  • 1 egg

Method

Lizzie's dog Prudence (GGBO)
  1. Place all ingredients into the bowl - cutting the banana into small pieces and cracking the egg.
  2. Mush all the ingredients together into a ball
  3. Once hardened in a ball, roll flat with a rolling pin
  4. Using any cutters, create shapes for your dog biscuits. Lizzie used sheep and star shapes
  5. Bake at 170 Celsius for 15 minutes.
  6. Enjoy a play with your pooches whilst waiting
  7. Time to bring out the biscuits and enjoy.

Last week, she made it through to the next round of the Channel 4 competition thanks to her Nana’s Peaches and Cream Anti-Gravity Showstopper.
