Great British Bake Off's Paul Hollywood under fire for 'humiliating' contestant again

Paul Hollywood has again come under fire from fans of The Great British Bake Off for his "horrible" treatment of contestant Maggie.

Last night saw the ten remaining bakers struggle through bread week, in which they were tasked with making focaccia, cheese and onion ciabatta breadsticks, and a display made out of milk bread for the showstopper.

Although HR business partner Rochica was the contestant to be eliminated, retired nurse Maggie was also criticised for the quality of her bakes by the judges - particularly Paul Hollywood.

After presenting her milk bread showstopper, which was sculpted to look like an octopus, Maggie was met with an unimpressed reaction from the judge, who asked her whether it was four hours worth of work.

Maggie appeared unfazed, quickly responding: "It was for me."

However, fans of the show have since voiced their dissatisfaction with the manner Paul spoke to the contestant - particularly since he has been criticised for it before.

One viewer tweeted: "I’m sorry but Paul is so rude to Maggie. I noticed last week too".

"Paul Hollywood was horrible to Maggie tonight," another wrote.

Referencing another moment in the episode in which the judge banged her bread on the table to demonstrate that the toppings weren't applied properly, a third commented: "Paul humiliating Maggie again tipping up her foccaccio so the topping falls off. What is wrong with the man, have some respect!"

A fellow fan agreed, responding: "And I notice he didn't do it to anyone else, even though there were loads of loose toppings."

Someone else fumed: "Paul Hollywood needs to leave Maggie the f**k alone man she needs to be protected at all times"

Paul has previously been criticised for his treatment of Maggie in the show's biscuit week, after he told her that if he were giving her a school report it would say "must try harder".
