Great British Bake Off Giuseppe's 'good old chat' with Prince Charles at Queen's Jubilee lunch

Great British Bake Off's Giuseppe and Prince Charles were pictured sitting around a dinner table over the Queen's Jubilee bank holiday weekend. Bristolian Giuseppe Dell’Anno shared a snap of himself with the Royal on his social media at the Big Jubilee Lunch yesterday (June 5).

Around 500 guests attended The Oval cricket ground in south London to mark the Queen's 70th year on the throne, and Giuseppe found time to talk to Charles on his favourite topic - Italian food. Giuseppe uploaded the picture to Twitter and wrote in the caption: "Having a good old chat with Prince Charles, as you do…"

And when asked by someone in the comments what they spoke about, Giuseppe replied: "We spoke about Italian cuisine of course. What else? I have no other subject of conversation…"

He was joined by 2019 GBBO finalist Alice Fevronia and 2021 contestant Crystelle Pereira. And Alice also shared clips of her and her fellow bakers on Instagram, and revealed that Prince Charles' favourite cuisine is Italian.

She wrote on Instagram: "Not your average Sunday, having tea with royalty (and no I’m not just talking about @giuseppecooks). In true British style, we braved the elements for the Big Jubilee Lunch, but luckily the rain held off just long enough. It turns out Prince Charles’s favourite cuisine is Italian, he has heard of Bake Off, and he’s a fan of cake (not baking them though, just eating them. Fair enough!)"

Lots of fans responded to Giuseppe's post on Twitter. @The_Orange_Bird wrote: "A future king and a current king!". And @nabsy27 said: "Omg congratulations Giuseppe! So deserved."
