Great British Bake Off: "Giuseppe needs a motivational speech"

Bristol's own baking supremo Giuseppe Dell’Anno has been lacking on the confidence front this week despite his flawless performance so far.

During tonight's Great British Bake Off episode, the Emersons Green engineer told judges his bakes weren't as impressive as his dad's - but fans were quick to reply on social media that everyone was 'proud of him'.

The father-of-three bagged the first Hollywood Handshake of the series in last week's episode and then was crowned Star Baker.

His love for baking comes from his father, a professional chef who did all the cooking at home as Giuseppe was growing up, including making a cake every Sunday.

Following his stump in confidence during tonight's dessert week, fans were quick to take to social media to give him a morale boost.

One fan wrote: "Aww, Giuseppe, I'm sure your dad would be proud."

Another said: "Can someone tell Giuseppe I’m proud of him no matter what."

Someone else wrote: "Giuseppe needs a motivational speech. You can be better than your dad! You can be as good as you want to be."

And he has also attracted some super fans: "Giuseppe has never done anything wrong, he invented baking, he is god."
