Great British Bake Off fans thrilled as Ryan Reynolds pops up at the big tent

Ryan Reynolds has caused a stir by sharing a photo on Instagram that suggests he made a surprise appearance on The Great British Bake Off.

In the image, the Hollywood actor can be seen alongside GBBO judges Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm in the caption, writing, "A full and unconditional hug of pure serotonin."

Fans of the show were thrilled to see the image - with one commenter Andy writing: "Just give the man a UK citizenship already. Guys an absolute legend.", Birmingham Live reported.

Another, Ruby, said: "You’ve done celeb bake off?! That’s it then. We can end television now. It’s done,"

"So football and bake off… I think prime minister next??? Please. For all British people everywhere," laughed another.

In previous interviews, the 46-year-old Deadpool star has spoken highly of the popular baking show, praising its positive atmosphere and heartwarming nature. He stated, "We live in a world that's pretty divisive right now, and there's a lot going on, and I like that show just because it's a nice thing to watch at night."

Reynolds appreciates the kindness exhibited by the contestants and judges, finding it refreshing and a welcome departure from chaotic times. In 2019, he revealed to US outlet People that he enjoyed watching the Channel 4 show together with his wife, Blake Lively, who gained fame through her role in Gossip Girl.

Paul Hollywood also shared an image of the trio and referred to Reynolds as a legend, writing, "Prue and I catching up with @vancityreynolds... #legend."

The Great British Bake Off has attracted various screen figures in the past, including Friends actor David Schwimmer, Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, and wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson, who has also declared himself a fan of the series.
