Great British Bake Off fans slam Jürgen for 'out of order' behaviour

Tuesday night's episode of The Great British Bake Off saw the competition continue to heat up as the five remaining contestants were whittled down to four.

Ultimately, car production operative Lizzie was sent home after failing to impress with her gluten-free celebration cake and dairy-free ice cream sandwiches.

However, the most talked about moment of the night involved frontrunner Jürgen, who left viewers horrified with his etiquette.

The German-born physicist was taking his vegan sausage rolls out of the oven when he lost grip of the baking tray and the pastries fell to the ground.

Rather than start again, or make the judges aware of his error, he picked the sausage rolls back up off of the floor and placed them back in the oven.

He served the rolls to judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, who were none the wiser to his mistake, and ultimately came in fourth in the technical.

Viewers were quick to react to the incident on social media, with many calling out the baker for not telling the judges that they were eating pastries that had been on the ground.

One Twitter user wrote: "I didn’t actually think that Jurgen would serve the floor sausage rolls to the judges."

"I think it's out of order that Jurgen didn't fess up over the food on the floor. Should've told the judges," commented a second.

A third tweeted: "They surely didn’t let Jurgen put up food he’d dropped on the floor."

Another questioned: "Have they told Prue and Paul that Jurgen served them floor pastries yet?"

Other viewers found the ordeal funny, however.

"The fact that Jurgen gave them food that he dropped on the floor has me laughing my *ss off," one said.

Another tweeted: "Sorry I'm not over Jurgen literally serving up floor sausage rolls lmao."

"Jurgen just casually picking his vegan sausage rolls up off the floor, popping them in the oven and going 'You didn't see that'", a third added with a laughing face emoji.
