Great British Bake Off fans were left devastated after 20-year-old contestant Peter made a confession during Tuesday night's instalment.
The episode saw judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith ask the remaining bakers to create three different dishes for dessert week.
The three tricky challenges included making miniature cheesecakes for the signature bake, Sussex Pond Pudding for the technical round and a jelly art dessert cake in the show-stopper round.
But as the bakers were gearing up for their signature round, Peter made a confession.
"You can't trust a cheesecake, I have an aversion to cheese in general" Peter admitted, while preparing for his task of creating 12 miniature cheesecakes with lime and ginger.
Many fans watching the show from home were devastated by his admission, with many flocking to social media to share their thoughts.
One tweeted: "I've lost all respect for Peter for that cheese comment, so now Mark is my favourite."
Jack added: "Peter was one of my favourite bakers, but now he’s said he has 'an aversion to cheese' I consider him a sworn enemy."
Joseph said: "Peter on The Great British Bake Off just broke my heart, he doesn't like cheese!"
Hannah wrote: "I’ve been rooting for Peter since day 1 but 'I have an aversion to cheese'? You couldn’t have thrown a bigger spanner into the works hun. You’re on thin ice now."
Laura put: "'I have an aversion to cheese.' Oh Peter. And you were doing so well..."
And a sixth commented: "Peter isn't perfect after all. He doesn't like cheese."
