Great British Bake Off fan points out Dave's adorable 'showstopper shimmy' we all missed

This week saw the 11th season of The Great British Bake Off draw to a close after 10 weeks and a winner was crowned.

Peter, Dave and Laura competed to take home the coveted cake stand, in an episode that was incredibly close and nail-bitingly tense thanks to several baking blunders.

The season was filled with sweet moments, but following the final, one fan pointed out that Dave had been doing something cute on camera each week, every time his showstopper challenge was judged.

Taking to Reddit's R/CasualUK forum, a user known only as u/Sploshee shared a look at what they dubbed Dave's "showstopper shimmy".

The post featured a montage from various episodes of the show, in which Dave Friday, 30, can be seen doing a little dance or shimmy, with his shoulders jigging up and down, after presenting his final bake to Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

They captioned the video, writing: "Did any other Bake Off fans notice Dave's showstopper shimmy?"

More than 4,000 people upvoted the Reddit post, with hundreds commenting on it.

One person said: "Happy shimmy, sad shimmy, concerned shimmy. He had it all!"

Another replied: "I never noticed but I'm glad it's been pointed out! Very cute."

"Ok well this is adorable. My niece does this shuffle when she knows there’s food coming," wrote a third.

Someone else posted: "Aww Dave. So sweet. Such a lovely guy."

"This is amazing," added a fifth.

A different user compared his little shimmy to the dance Winnie the Pooh does before he eats honey.

Others had noticed it during the show and a few even had a favourite type of shimmy, with one replying: "The happy ones were my favourite. Like when a dog wags its tail and the whole body wags."

An eighth person claimed their sister did the same thing when she was "anxious" about something - and pointing it out would only embarrass her and make do it more.
