Graze Bar & Chophouse in Bristol to be sold off for more than £100,000

Bristol steak restaurant Graze Bar & Chophouse is being sold off for more than £100,000.

The eatery on Queen’s Square is owned and managed by Bath Ales, which was bought up by St Austell Brewery in 2016.

The restaurant serves steaks, grilled meat and burgers, and is “inspired by by bars and chophouses in London and New York”, according to the website.

An advert by property company Bettesworths states the restaurant is being sold in line with St Austell’s “strategic plans”.

Steve Worrall, retail director of St Austell Family Group, said: “I can confirm that we have put our property at Queen Square on the market with Bettesworths.

“It’s an iconic location with plenty of footfall coming from local businesses, as well as visitors to this historic Bristol neighbourhood, and I am sure it will generate a lot of interest.

“We remain committed to the Graze retail concept and our decision to sell Graze Bristol does not affect Graze Bath.

“Graze Bristol will continue to operate as normal while our agents seek a buyer and I would like to thank the Graze Bristol team, and our customers, for their continued support and commitment.”

Bath Ales will be able to keep the trading name Graze, according to Bettesworth.

The restaurant, which is described as an "open-plan, bright and airy" space with seating for up to 70 people, currently has a full-time manager, assistance manager and chef, and a number of part time workers.

Staff will be protected by TUPE regulations, which preserve employees' terms and conditions when a business is transferred to a new employer.

The current rent for Graze is £46,000 a year plus VAT and the annual service charge on the site is £7,000 plus VAT. Graze’s turnover for year ending 2018 was £825,000.
