Grass fire at Broxtowe Country Park believed to have been started deliberately

Firefighters dealt with a grass fire at Broxtowe Country Park.

One engine attended the incident after it was reported at 6.07pm on Sunday (September 1).

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted to say 50 square metres of grass and undergrowth were involved in the fire.

A fire service spokeswoman said it was believed to have been started deliberately.

One hose reel jet and beaters were used to extinguish the blaze.

There were no reports of any injuries.

It happened at the site, in Nottingham Road, near a BMX track.
