Graphic anti-abortion billboards target pregnant pro-choice MP Stella Creasy

Pregnant Labour MP Stella Creasy has been targeted by graphic anti-abortion billboards in her constituency.

Posters with the hashtag #Stop- Stella, including one featuring a nine-week-old foetus, were seen around Walthamstow, East London.

Ms Creasy, 42, said she was being harassed by the Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform UK because she is a pro-choice campaigner.

Ms Creasy called on police to “stop the harassment” and for Home Secretary Priti Patel to step in.

CBRUK, an offshoot of a US pro-life charity founded by a Republican politician, said on its website: “Stella Creasy deliberately conceals in all her public statements on abortion the humanity of the unborn child.

“Yet when she is speaking about her own baby in her womb... she speaks openly on their humanity. We are saturating [her] constituency with the humanity of the unborn child and the reality of abortion, whilst highlighting to constituents how their MP is working to promote abortion.”

The Advertising Standards Agency received around 100 complaints about the ad.

Labour MP Wes Streeting said: “They are targeting Stella while she is pregnant because she is pregnant. It’s appalling.”

Advertising firm Clear Channel, which operates the billboards’ space, apologised last night.

It added: “We have removed this campaign and are reviewing our internal processes.
