Grapevine Gathering makes sweet return with banger bill

ELECTRO party-starters Peking Duk, pop queens The Veronicas and indie-pop band The Jungle Giants will headline the return of Grapevine Gathering music festival in the Hunter Valley this spring.

Pokolbin's Roche Estate will host Grapevine Gathering on October 9.

The line-up also includes indie-pop three-piece San Cisco, ethereal electro-pop songstress Vera Blue, North-East Arnhem Land surf-rockers King Stingray, alt-pop act Rest For The Wicked and producer CC Disco.

Further acts are yet to be announced.

Ex-tradies turned Instagram celebrities The Uninspired Unemployed will serve as festival hosts and perform changeover DJ sets. The duo started their Instagram account during COVID-19 out of boredom and have amassed almost 1 million followers, quit their day jobs as tradies, and have collaborated with Vogue, GQ and Louis Vuitton.

Grapevine Gathering was last headlined by UK indie band Two Door Cinema Club in November 30, 2019 after last year's edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Roche hosted the Hunter's last major festival prior to COVID when Jungle Giants and The Naked and Famous performed at Wine Machine on March 14, 2020, just weeks before the NSW lockdown was introduced.

On March 27 Roche Estate will welcome back live music with the sold-out Sunset Sounds, featuring Daryl Braithwaite, Ian Moss, The Black Sorrows, Kate Ceberano, Ross Wilson and Thirsty Merc.

Pre-sale tickets for Grapevine Gathering are available from 6pm on February 24, followed by general sale at 12pm on February 25.
