Granton marina developers have spoken of their relief after winning their latest court battle with the City of Edinburgh Council.
The authority was attempting to overturn a successful appeal by the developers to have their planning permission extended to 2023.
However it emerged this week that this had failed and Edinburgh Marina Holdings can now press on with creating their £500 million development which is "at the forefront" of the Granton regeneration.
They want to develop a world class marina comprising 427 full-serviced berths with 24/7 access at all states of tide, more than 1800 new homes, a spa and conference hotel, a 13,000 sq ft Granton Health Hub, neighbourhood shopping and a technology innovation centre.
Developers say the plans should create around 1200 new jobs in the area.
The council's appeal centred around the idea they'd be able to draw up a new agreement and bring in additional funds from Edinburgh Marina Holdings to pay for the infrastructure linked to the proposal.
Charles Price, spokesperson for Edinburgh Marina Holdings, said: "We have received confirmation that the CEC has lost its appeal to overturn last year's successful appeal to extend the wider masterplan consent.
"The Edinburgh Marina waterfront development forms an essential component of the CEC's £1.3bn Granton Waterfront Development Framework which was adopted by the Council on Wednesday 26 February 2020.
"There is now a great sense of relief that our proposals will now be able to deliver on the key objectives for the Development Framework, whilst spearheading the wider development and future success of Granton's Waterfront."
