Grant visa to UAE-based Afghan-Sikh businessman for taking care of his ill father in Delhi: Manjit Singh GK urges GOI

AMBALA: Delhi-based Jag Assara Guru Ott (JAGO) Party president Manjit Singh GK wrote a letter to the principal secretary (PS) to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged to grant a visa to a prominent Afghan-Sikh businessman residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for taking care of his ill nonagenarian father in Delhi.

As per the information, Harbans Singh (91), a holder of an Indian passport and resident of Kalkaji, Delhi has been permanently residing in the national capital with his spouse Kartar Kaur.

Manjit Singh GK said that unfortunately, Harbans Singh suffered an acute cerebrovascular accident on March 29, 2022, with right MCA infarct and hypotension and he is presently admitted at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi on life support and remains critical.

GK added that Singh's son Kultar Sing Arban Sing, along with his spouse Loch Kour Arjee Sing, both are holders of Afghanistan passports, and following the accident of their father, they applied for an e-emergency visa to visit India for taking care of their ill family member.

"Both Kultar Singh and his wife Loch Kour are residing in Dubai, UAE, and holder of residence visa there. Kultar Sing Arban Sing is a prominent Afghan-Sikh businessman who settled there", said Manjit Singh GK.

GK added that he wrote to PS PK Mishra and requested to consider and grant an appropriate visa to Kultar Sing and his wife on humanitarian grounds and there is no one in the family to attend ailing Harbans Singh and his wife, Kartar Kaur.

GK further added that he copied the request to the Union ministry of external affairs (GOI), ministry of home affairs, and consulate general of India in Dubai, UAE.

Afghan-origin Guljeet Singh, a resident of New Delhi said, "Harbans Singh came to India in the 1990s has five children, two of his daughters are in London and one in Dubai, and one of his sons who is paralysed lives in Canada, while Kultar Sing is in UAE. Recently, Harbans Singh was planning to move to UAE to live with his son Kultar Sing and his air tickets were also booked but unfortunately, this incident took place. Harbans Singh owns some property in Delhi and he lived a happy life here and earned from the property rent."
