A new tattoo studio has opened in Livingston, and its first customer can boast a special link to the artist.
Laura Simpson, 79, received her first tattoo at the Krimson Ink studio in Pumpherston from her granddaughter Kimmie Dunlop.
The design was inked on her left shoulder, making her the studio's inaugural customer.
The studio ran a promotion for a 50% discount for the first five customers when it launched on March 16.

Kimmie said on Facebook: "The very first tattoo I did in my new studio was for my 79-year old Granny.
"She's never had one before so I'm extremely honoured she chose now to get one and help me launch my new business."
She told Edinburgh Live: "The design is based on a brooch her mother gave her and contains the initials of her immediate bloodline.
"She chose now to do it as I was launching my business and she fancied doing something adventurous and memorable leading up to her 80th birthday.
"She's already thinking about another too! As her and my grandad will be married 60 years this year, she may get one to commemorate that."
