Welcome to the Evening Standard's LIVE rolling coverage of the news that Granit Xhaka has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy.
Unai Emery confirmed that Xhaka is no longer one of Arsenal's five captains following his extraordinary fallout with the club's fans during the 2-2 Premier League draw against Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium n 27 October.
Xhaka reacted furiously to boos and jeers from the Emirates crowd as he was substituted during the second half, walking slowly off the pitch, cupping his ears to the fans and appearing to tell them to "f*** off" before pulling off his jersey and heading straight down the tunnel.
The Switzerland international has since received both support and criticism from sections of the Arsenal support, but Emery has now decided that Xhaka is no longer the club's captain - and has chosen Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as his successor.
