Granit Xhaka cups ears and shouts "f*** off" at Arsenal fans as he's subbed off pitch

Granit Xhaka shouted "f*** off" to the Arsenal fans who booed him off the pitch when his number was called against Crystal Palace.

Gunners supporters ironically cheered Unai Emery's decision to sub off the Switzerland international on the 61 minute mark before they began booing Xhaka.

The Arsenal captain reacted by taking his shirt off as he stormed down the tunnel and could be seen mouthing "f*** off".

Xhaka was recently named Gunners skipper by Unai Emery, but doesn't seem to have the confidence of the Arsenal fans.

He was Emery's first sub of the day against Palace, coming off for youngster Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal stormed into a two-goal lead against Crystal Palace on Sunday, with Sokratis and David Luiz getting on the score sheet.

But Palace battled back and were awarded a penalty on 32 minutes, which Luka Milivojevic converted.

In the second half Jordan Ayew netted the equaliser for Palace, as the Emirates crowd became increasingly frustrated.

When Xhaka's number was then called it was met with ironic cheers before jeering.

Sokratis netted a second for Arsenal late on against Palace, but a VAR review saw the goal chalked off and the two sides share the spoils.

The result sees the Gunners remain a point ahead of Roy Hodgson's side in the league.
