Arsenal have endured a mixed start to the Premier League season.
The Gunners have lost three of their last four matches, falling to defeats against Liverpool, Manchester City and Leicester.
That has left them down in 11th with a four point gap already growing between themselves and Everton and Liverpool, who currently occupy the top two positions in the table.
Defensively, though, things have not been all that bad under Mikel Arteta with Arsenal leaking only seven goals so far this term, the second-best defensive record in the division - even if they have only kept one Premier League clean sheet.
But one key statistic about two of his players' defensive form highlights that there is still room for improvement.
Analysing the last 12 months of Premier League football, a study by BetVictor of key defensive statistics has found that Arsenal have the two least efficient tacklers.
The study compared successfully completed tackles to fouls committed per 90 minutes with Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka among the worst performers in the division.
Lacazette has managed only 0.7 tackles per foul committed while Xhaka, who should pride himself of turnover of possession, has completed only 0.8 tackles per four committed.
Xhaka has re-established himself as a key player for Arsenal in midfield, having had a difficult spell last season at the club.
He has featured eight times for the Gunners so far this season, with the Swiss international lining up alongside new signing Thomas Partey and Dani Ceballos in the midfield against Leicester City on Sunday.
And improving Xhaka's tackling success rate could be key for Arteta, to help provide a solid base for Partey to flourish alongside him, with the Ghanaian showing in his time at Atletico Madrid that he has the ability to have an influence further forward, when given the licence to get involved in attack.
The best tackler in the Premier League, according to the study, is Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The former Crystal Palace defender managed 6.1 tackles per foul committed over the past year, closely followed by Eagles' full-back Patrick Van Aanholt (4.8) and Leicester City's James Justin (4.5).
There was one victory for Arsenal to take from the study, albeit a shallow one.
Right-back Cedric Soares ranked as the top flight's fourth-best tackler, despite only making three appearances for Arteta's side this season and finding himself well down the pecking order at London Colney.
