Grangemouth school bids farewell to popular teacher after 27 years

Staff and pupils at Grangemouth High School have said an emotional goodbye to a highly popular teacher who has retired after 27 years.

Mr Andrews, a Technologies Teacher, has been remembered as 'one of the best' as he left the building for a final time on Friday.

A video posted on Twitter, shows staff and pupils lining the school's entrance, while cheering and giving him a round of applause.

Brian Millar, Headteacher at Grangemouth High said: "Mr Andrews has been a Technologies Teacher in Grangemouth HS for 27yrs.

"He was a dedicated member of staff who had amazing relationships with pupils and staff.

"We wish him well on his new venture into retirement."

Many former pupils have taken to social media with their memories of Mr Andrews.

One person said: "He's was a quality teacher, never took any crap, but was always fair."

Another wrote: "Aw sad to see this. I was just telling my brother who is due to start high school in the summer that he was a sound teacher.

A third commented: "I had him a few times and he was the soundest teacher in that school man. Always looked out for us and wanted us to do our best."
