Grangemouth family raise over £1k for hospice with Christmas light display

A family from Grangemouth say they're "overwhelmed" by the kindness and generosity locals have shown in help raise £1,100 as part of their annual Christmas lights display.

The money raised has been donated to Strathcarron Hospice in Denny, a free palliative care resource serving people in the Forth Valley and North Lanarkshire areas.

Every year, the Morris family who live on Wallace Street in Grangemouth, turn their garden into a winter wonderland.

It's visited by people in the area and further afield.

A 6ft Santa is the latest addition to the spectacular display this year, along with a post box so kids can post a letter to the big man.

Taking to Facebook, they have thanked everyone who donated this year, it said: "Most of you are aware, my family and I have been collecting donations for Strathcarron Hospice over the festive period.

"We stopped collecting donations on Christmas eve and are pleased to announce that we have collected £1,100.

"The family are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown by everyone who has contributed during these very difficult times.

"Including all the lovely messages we received.

"Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every one of you who donated. I'm sure this will be very much appreciated by all at Strathcarron Hospice."
