While many of us now feel lost without our smartphone at our side, for older people, incorporating modern technologies into day-to-day life can be tricky.
Now, a new tablet has been unveiled that’s specifically designed for over-75s, with the genius name of ‘GrandPad’.
The tablet has a number of special adaptations, including a large screen, pre-loaded apps, and even a specially fabricated touchscreen that ‘responds better to ageing skin.’
In a statement, its designers explained: “GrandPad, which was designed to meet the needs and interests of people over the age of 75, has been a life saver for families during COVID-19 lockdowns and social distancing.
“The innovative device is safe, simple, and secure and makes connecting with loved ones enjoyable and stress-free for older adults. GrandPad removes barriers to technology use that many seniors often face.”

GrandPad has built-in 4G LTE data, and comes in a sturdy yet soft-to-the-touch case to ensure the tablet doesn’t break, should it be dropped.
And while most tablets require you to install apps from the Google Play Store or App Store, GrandPad comes pre-loaded with several handy apps.
The statement added: “GrandPad comes preloaded with every feature seniors need to stay connected to their loved ones without the difficult and distracting features of other tablets.”

Pre-installed apps include emails, camera and video-calling, as well as radio, news and games.
The GrandPad also has internet access, should you feel the need to surf the web.
Meanwhile, users don’t need to mess around with cables to charge the tablet, thanks to a wireless charging stand which comes with the GrandPad.
In terms of pricing, the GrandPad is priced at £49.95/month and can be purchased from the TechSilver website here.
