A 59-year-old grandmother says she is quitting her day job as a carer after her daughter convinced her to sell saucy pictures online.
Sandra Maria Brook splits her time between Portugal and Amsterdam and says she can make €1,500 (£1,300) a month through the website OnlyFans.
She says that the money that she makes is more than triple what she earned in her last job as a part-time carer.
Her personal Instagram account has over 11,000 followers and depicts the grandmother in a series of skimpy outfits and suggestive poses.
"I understand what the fans want, and I know how to give it to them," Sandra tells us.
Over her working life Sandra has done stints as a gogo dancer, masseuse, personal trainer, escort and choreographer.
"I have spent a lot of time on the stage, so I know all about performing for people," she says.
Sandra’s daughter Yaela Vonk, who has a very successful OnlyFans page of her own plus 434,000 followers on Instagram convinced her up-for-it mum to give it a shot while they were on holiday together.
"We rented a villa together in the mountains of Portugal," explains Sandra.
"Yaela told me about her online work in more detail, and we just talked about it – I was happy for her that she could earn lots of money, making the virtual world work for her. I was proud of her, but I didn’t think I could do this job myself."
Soon after that Sandra was offered a job in England – but daughter Yaela talked her out of getting on the plane.
"When I told her about England, she said 'why don’t you come and live with me instead?' She offered to teach me about how to earn money, and shoot my own videos and photos.’ Sandra gave it some consideration.
"I thought about it, and then said yes. Not only for the work but also an opportunity to be with my daughter for a longer period of time then just holidays.
"And also to be with my grandson, Yaela’s young boy, who loved the idea that I would now be able to bring him to school, make dinner and so on."
Sandra had been living a somewhat hippyish life between contracts, preferring nature and solitude over the bustle of online life.
"I had a lot to learn, and I had not been too concerned about my looks after being a few years off-grid.
"So Yaela helped me, no only with learning how to film and build my social media profile, but with trips to the gym, getting in shape and getting my nails, hair and teeth perfect again.
"Of course, Covid-19 made that much more difficult! The plan was to start my OnlyFans when I had 5,000 followers on Instagram, but I started anyway in March this year with only 3,000 followers.
"I figured a lot of people would be at home now, needing more amusement than ever!"
So far Sandra is happy with her earnings and enjoying the process of investing in herself, making progress and building up her fanbase.
"I am so grateful I have fans wanting to pay for me, renewing their subscriptions – I give them what they want, clearly!"
And Sandra has been pleasantly surprised that her sexy content seems to be attracting younger fans.
"I did not expect my biggest audience would be in the under-35 age bracket!" she says. ‘I love talking with them, most of them are really nice, and hot!
"It’s funny to see fans sometimes talking to each other in the comments section.
“It’s strange, I should not like this” says one guy, then the other says “yes, but we are both watching!”, then the first guy says "true that!"'
"It really makes me laugh to see that!"
Despite the news being dominated by coronavirus she says fans never bring the topic up. "People don’t want to talk about Covid-19, they want to relax and escape.
"A lot of fans seem to love my butt – which I am learning how to wiggle properly – and the soles of my feet.’
But there's so much more than sexy photos and fantasy chat available to Sandra's dedicated fans.
"Sometimes it’s just nice to talk – there are a lot of lonely souls out there. And the way this job is working out for me, I now have the energy to react and help.’
Not all interactions with fans are so positive.
"On occasion I make mistakes,’ says Sandra. ‘I realise too late in a conversation that a person maybe isn’t as nice as they seem.
"For example, lots of people ask if my daughter and I will ever do a scene together.
"There is this fantasy of a mother and daughter together doing erotic scenes, but I make it clear we never do that.
"Of course we understand that if we make a video or a picture of us together it works – so yes we will sometimes both be dressed in our erotic style, and yes, we understand now that in minds the fantasy goes further.
"But not in mine or my daughter's mind. We have a very healthy, normal but free-spirited mother and daughter relationship."
Sandra loves living with her daughter and having the opportunity to spend so much time with her grandson.
"The household works together, it’s lovely that I can take him to school and cook dinner, plus Yaela can do more.'
And Sandra's old performing instincts have never deserted her. "For me, this life is sort of like working in the theatre. As long as I have camera gear, phone, makeup and clothes, I can live out of a suitcase, without slaving for a boss.
"And most importantly, I am surrounded by the people I love.’
