"Grandmaster of Comedy" Brendan Grace's funeral will be held in his native Dublin on Monday, his family have announced.
The entertainer passed away peacefully at The Galway Clinic surrounded by his family in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The 68-year-old had been battling lung cancer.
A death notice posted on RIP.ire reads: "Ireland’s beloved Entertainer, Liberty Boy and Grandmaster of Comedy. (late of Ballina/Killaloe, Jupiter, Florida and Echlin Street, Dublin) - 11th July 2019.
"Cherished husband of Eileen, beloved father of Amanda, Melanie, Bradley and Brendan Patrick.
"Deeply and sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons, grandchildren James, Patrick, and Aiden, sons-in-law Frank and Terry, daughter-in-law Christina, sister Marie, nephew Philippe and his beloved Aunt Wyn, relatives and friends."
Brendan's Funeral Mass will be held in The Liberties where he grew up, on Monday at 1pm in The Church of St. Nicholas of Myra on Francis Street.
A private cremation for family and friends will be held in Newlands Cross Crematorium.
His relatives have requested family flowers only, and donations, if desired, to Engaging Dementia.
Fans of the legendary entertainer were paying respects in their droves at Dublin's Mansion House on Thursday.
A book of condolence was opened by Lord Mayor Paul McAuliffe and will remain open until 5pm on Friday.
Many remembered the funnyman for his classic and clean form of comedy, which entertained people across the world.
Francis Ross works in the nearby Brooks Hotel, where the Grace family often stays.
Frank said he grew up a fan of Brendan, and became a friend in his later years.
He said: "He knew me as Frank. Like everybody, I grew up with him in the 70s and he was our idol, visiting our school with the green cross code, and then going to see him in the Gaiety when I was older.
"I got to know him as a friend in the last 15 years. It's a very sad day for us all in the hotel.
"As it happens I'll be off work on Monday and I'll be at his funeral - either way, I would have found a way to be there.
"Unlike other comedians, he didn't lean on the same character all the time. I liked them all, but the Bottler is the one that introduced us all to him."
