Now the nights are getting dark increasingly early, parents are looking for ways to keep their kids safe while they're out and about.
One grandma was doing just this when she discovered a reflective coat from Next - and it makes her grandson shine brighter than an actual diamond when lit up by headlights.
Alison Davies shared a photo of the impressive jacket on Facebook, and it quickly went viral, racking up over a thousand comments and over eleven thousand likes.
Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Alison explained: " I think it's such a great idea on these dark nights anything to help keep the kids safe. Cyclists would benefit too."
She added: "I was amazed by it."
The jacket in question is Next's fleece-lined padded coat - which starts at £22 for 3-year-olds, and goes up to £26 for 11-year-olds.
The coat is available in four different colours (black, camouflage, navy and ochre), and has heat-sealed reflective fabric at the back.
It's also racked up some good reviews on the Next website, and has an average rating of 4.5/5 stars.
"Just what a 8yo boy needs to keep warm this winter!" wrote one happy shopper - rating it five stars.
Another parent, also giving it five stars, said: "Lovely coat, bough for school, good price, good quality and no fussy trims so practical for school."
