A grandmother was left horrified when she discovered used needles scattered across a baby changing table in a public toilet.
Joanna Larkin was out on a sunny Saturday in Chester city centre when nature called, reports Cheshire Live .
She said: "Me and my partner were shopping in town on Saturday.
"We were heading down Frodsham Street and I said 'I won't be a minute, I want to go in the toilet.'"
Joanne, who lives in the Hoole area of Chester, then paid to use a public toilet on Frodsham Street.
But the grandmother got a nasty surprise, discovering needles on a baby changing table.
She said: "It was disgraceful. It's disgusting.
"Years ago - I've lived in Chester all my life - you would see the attendants in there. You don't see them now."
The grandmother explained that she was simply glad she didn't have her grandchildren with her at the time.
She said: "It was shocking - it was in such a state.
"It was a nice day and there were loads of families and children. If a child had gone in there - it doesn't bear thinking about."
Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) have been approached for comment.
A spokesman for the council said a statement will be made in due course.
