Grandfather of nine died after crash on Coryton Interchange

A pensioner rushed to hospital following a crash in Cardiff has since died from his injuries, police have said.

Gwilym Jones, 76, sustained serious injuries in the incident which happened on the Coryton Interchange shortly on April 26.

His family said they were heartbroken by their loss and described Mr Jones as a wonderful father and doting granddad.

In a statement, his relatives said: "Gwilym Jones was born in Abertridwr, Caerphilly on January, 7 1943.

"He married Audrey Jean Jones on October 27 1962.

"Gwilym had three children, Michelle Davies, Glenn Jones and Kevin Jones.

"He also had nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

"He will be sadly missed by his family."

Motorbike passenger killed in Port Talbot crash

South Wales Police said Mr Jones died on May 2 at the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital of Wales , Cardiff .

When the crash took place, he had been driving his silver Citroen C3 SX westbound along the M4 at around 3am before leaving the motorway at Coryton.

Officers are still appealing for any witnesses of the collision, or anyone who has dash-cam footage, to come forward.
