The grandfather of a young girl who plunged to her death from the 11th storey of a cruise ship in Puerto Rico has been charged.
The arrest of Salvatore Anello was ordered by a judge on Monday after prosecutors said his two-year-old granddaughter Chloe Wiegand fell when he raised her up to an open window on the vessel.
He has been accused of negligent homicide. His charge comes after the toddler's death on July 7.
A lawyer for the family said the young girl asked her grandfather to lift her up so she could bang on the glass in a children's play area.
He blamed the cruise ship company for leaving the window inexplicably open.
The family, from the US state of Indiana, and was on board Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas.
Anello is being held on an $80,000 (£62,000) bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 20.
