Grandad with dementia missing from home with no wallet, money or form of ID

Merseyside Police confirmed at 11.30pm on Tuesday, November 19, that Gerard Chandler was located safe and well and returned home to his family.

An elderly man with dementia is missing from home with no wallet, money or form of ID.

Gerard Chandler was last seen in Old Swan at around 11am on Tuesday morning but has not been seen since.

Mr Chandler's family and police are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing due to his dementia.

He has been described as 5"10, with a heavy build. When last seen, Gerard was wearing a navy anorak, grey trousers and black shoes.

On Facebook , his family have appealed for help in locating him and have advised people that he does not have any money or ID on him.

A post said: "Can everyone keep an eye out for our dad/grandad please.

"He has dementia and he’s been missing since 11 o’clock this morning in the Old Swan area with no wallet, money or form of ID.

"His name is Gerard Chandler, 5’10”, heavy set build. Wearing a navy jacket and grey pants."

"Would really appreciate it if everyone could have a look for him."

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Can you help? We are urgently appealing to find #missing man Gerard Chandler.

"Gerard suffers with Dementia & was last seen this morning in the #Stonycroft #Liverpool area wearing a navy blue anorak, dark grey trousers & black shoes.

"Any info or sightings call 101 or @MerPolCC ."
