Grandad died after being hit with wine bottle thrown from 7th floor of building

A grandfather died after being hit with a wine bottle that was thrown from the seventh floor of a tower block.

IT worker Andrew Gosling, 47, is accused of causing the death of delivery driver Nasiari Sunee in Singapore by throwing the glass container from a height.

The bottle struck Mr Sunee, 73, in the head.

Tragically he died from his injuries, and relatives said the bottle did not shatter.

Australian Gosling is accused of causing death by performing a rash act, 9News reports .

The victim was at a housewarming party and about to eat when he was struck by the bottle.

Relative Nas Suriati Nasiari, 44, told The Straits Times that his loved ones heard two loud thuds before seeing him collapsed on the ground.

He was rushed to hospital, but his heart stopped three times before relatives made the heartbreaking decision not to resuscitate him.

Gosling was arrested following the tragedy on August 18.

He could face five years behind bars if convicted, and is being held at Central Police Division.
