Grand National hero Tiger Roll declared for Boyne Hurdle at Navan

Grand National hero Tiger Roll has been declared to make his seasonal reappearance at Navan on Sunday.

The 10-year-old will be the centre of attention at his local track as he bids to defend his Boyne Hurdle title.

Gordon Elliott's superstar will go over hurdles to prep for another tilt at the cross-country race at Cheltenham and an attempt to emulate Red Rum and win a third Aintree Grand National.

There is some uncertainty over the final part of mission with Eddie O'Leary saying this week that it is 50-50 that he will run in the famous race after being disappointed at the racing weight he has been given for the Aintree spectacular.

That is for another day though and a big crowd is expected at Navan to see arguably the most famous horse in Ireland.

The Meath track are putting on a special offer for the day too - the 'Tiger Package'.

For €35 you get admission into the races, a €5 bet, a Tiger beer and a Hot Beef Tiger Roll.

The Tiger is set to go to post at 1.50pm with among his opposition Magic of Light - the runner-up in last year's Grand National.
