The Grand National returned today and racegoers were thrilled to finally see the world famous race back inside Aintree racecourse in person again.
Thousands of people descended upon Aintree Racecourse today, dressed to the nines and hoping to win big as the Grand National steeplechase returned for the first time with a crowd since 2019. This year’s event is the first with a full capacity crowd since the coronavirus pandemic caused its cancellation back in 2020.
One of the biggest events in Liverpool’s social calendar, the Grand National is always a much-loved event. The atmosphere over the last few days has been fantastic, with people clearly wanting to make up for lost time due to the coronavirus pandemic .

Throughout the day, there was singing and dancing away from the race course, and thousands cheered on their favourites from the stands once the racing got underway. The Grand National always manages to prove that there’s nowhere quite like Liverpool.
