Grand National 2021 tips: Three of the best longshots and each-way bets for Aintree

Shock results have become a regular occurrence in the Randox Grand National in recent years.

Although Tiger Roll was a winning favourite when the last race was run in 2019, the nine prior renewals have been taken by horses at double-figure prices.

In 2013, Auroras Encore came home in front at odds of 66-1, while Neptune Collonges (33-1) prevailed in the closest finish to the race in 2012.

Pineau De Re was the 2014 hero, while Many Clouds scored in 2015.

Both were sent off at 25-1 in the betting.

Mirror Racing looks at three outsiders who may be worth a flutter...

Class Conti 40-1

His third in the Thyestes Chase looks really good now, as the winner Coko Beach has since scooped a Grade Two race and runner-up Run Wild Fred took the same spot in the Irish National.

Other horses have also come out and won and this horse is a half-brother to 2016 National sixth Ucello Conti.

Although he done much of his racing on softer ground, in his younger days he won on a description of good.

Milan Native 40-1

Recent form does not inspire punters to back the eight-year-old, but on his day he is a smart performer.

He took the Kim Muir at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, which was won by Any Second Now in 2019 – a horse towards the head of the market for this afternoon's big race.

Milan Native stayed on well over the 3m 2f trip there and he is paired with top amateur rider Jamie Codd.

Connections seem hopeful he will stay the trip and he also has the pace for the early part of the contest, as a winner over two miles.

Give Me A Copper 50-1

(PA)

A horse for Manchester United fans, because one of his owners is Sir Alex Ferguson.

A strong-finishing second on his seasonal debut, he has a fourth on his CV over 3m 5f.

Ferguson celebrated a 62-1 treble earlier this week, with two of his winners coming from the same stable as Give Me A Copper.

The longshot is lightly-raced and has a big run in him if he brings his A-game to Aintree.
