Grand National - LIVE!
Rachael Blackmore continued her incredible season by landing the world’s most famous horse race on board the Henry De Bromhead-trained Minella Times.
Blackmore, who became the first woman to be top jockey at Cheltenham only last month, now becomes the first female rider to win the Grand National as well.
De Bromhead also enjoyed an incredible Cheltenham, landing the ‘Holy Trinity’ of Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle and Champion Chase and has now followed up with a one-two in the National after Balko Des Flos finished second.
The top five finishers were all trained in Ireland as Any Second Now, Burrows Saints and Farclas rounded out the places.
Earlier in the day, Arkle winner Shishkin kept up his unbeaten record over fences by landing the Doom Bar Maghull Novices’ Chase, while Thyme Hill produced a gritty display to win the Ryanair Stayers’ Hurdle.
