This year’s Grand National at Aintree takes place this weekend, so now is a good time to sort out your office sweepstake.
The 40 horses are due to take post at 5.15pm on Saturday, which gives you plenty of time to round up enough people to get a sweepstake going.

Print it, cut out the 40 slips and put them all in a hat. Then without looking pick out the slips out one by one, remembering to fill out the accompanying form.
There are 40 runners and riders, so if you have 40 people in your office willing to play you could charge people £2 to play. That would leave the winner £40, the runner-up £25, with £10 for third place and £5 for fourth.
Or if you’re feeling slightly more adventurous, £5 per entry would give you a prizepot of £200. That’s £100 for the winner, £50 for second place, £30 for third and £20 for fourth.
