The 172nd renewal of the world’s most famous horse race takes place at Aintree this afternoon, when 40 runners and riders contest the Grand National.
Run over more than four miles and 30 fences, the race is seen as the ultimate test of stamina for man and horse.
In the main event of the meet, Tiger Roll became the first horse to win multiple Grand Nationals since Red Rum won the race three times during the 1970s.
The Gordon Elliott-trained star was sent off 4-1 favourite to defend his crown and was given a superb ride by Davy Russell for a repeat of last year's success.
Tiger Roll finished ahead of Magic of Light, Rathvinden and Walk In The Mill.
